Acorn Charm

Every BIRKENSTOCK footbed begins as cork. Every cork oak begins as an acorn. We wanted to hold that beginning in the hand.

There's a quiet kinship in how the two are made. Cork is pressed with heat and shaped into a footbed; our leather is moulded the same way with heat, pressure, patience, and no hurrying it along. Our leather darkens where your fingers rest. It softens where it bends. After a season it stops looking new and starts looking like yours, the way a footbed learns a foot.

Floral Charm

A flower is never only a flower. It's the reason birds, insects and small mammals keep coming back and the reason seeds travel further than they ever could alone.

A community works much the same way. People arrive at New Bahru, eat, wander, run into someone they know, stay a little longer than planned, and carry something onward with them.

New Bahru has new-new. We have jalan-jalan.

The School of Jalan-Jalan Badge.

Walk-walk. Going out with nowhere in particular to be. A stroll, a wander, a bit of shopping if something catches your eye. The doubling is the whole point, not walking somewhere, just walking.

We made it as a school badge, because that's where most of us start learning words right after we learnt to walk. Pair it with either charm, personalise it, and wear it where it can be seen.
